Main Job Purpose
- To provide technical expertise and support during the sales process for server and storage solutions. The Pre-Sales Engineer: Server & Storage works closely with the sales team to design, propose, and present tailored server and storage solutions, leveraging company offerings from vendors such as Dell, HPE, and Huawei, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
Minimum Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in server and storage technologies (e.g., Dell EMC, HPE ASE/ATP, Huawei HCIA/HCIP).
Minimum Desired Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in pre-sales or technical support for server and storage solutions.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing server and storage architectures.
- Experience working with sales teams to develop and present technical proposals to clients.
Minimum Desired Competencies
- Deep knowledge of server and storage systems and architectures.
- Proficiency in designing scalable and efficient solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business value for clients.
LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-Sales Engagement
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and understand client needs and technical requirements.
- Conduct discovery sessions to gather information on the client’s infrastructure and operational challenges.
- Design and propose tailored server and storage solutions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budgets.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase company offerings.
Solution Design and Proposal Design
- Create comprehensive solution architectures for server and storage deployments, including high-availability and disaster recovery setups.
- Develop detailed proposals, including technical specifications, cost estimations, and justifications.
- Ensure proposed solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Vendor and Technology Expertise
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and features in server and storage technologies from Dell, HPE, and Huawei.
- Maintain certifications and compliance with vendor requirements to support pre-sales activities.
- Leverage vendor resources and tools to enhance solution design and client engagement.
Customer Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical insights and recommendations.
- Address client concerns and technical questions during the pre-sales phase.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance trust and satisfaction.
Collaboration with Sales and Technical Team
- Partner with the sales team to develop strategies for closing deals and achieving sales targets.
- Work closely with post-sales teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation.
- Provide feedback to technical and product teams based on client interactions.
Training and Knowledge Sharing
- Deliver training sessions to the sales team on server and storage solutions and technologies.
- Share insights on market trends, competitive solutions, and industry developments.
- Develop training materials and documentation for internal use.
Reporting and Analytics
- Track and report on pre-sales activities, including proposals, presentations, and client engagements.
- Provide insights into market trends, client needs, and competitor offerings.
- Contribute to regular reports for management, highlighting achievements and challenges.
Certifications
- Ensure certifications in server and storage technologies from Dell, HPE, and Huawei are up to date.
- Actively pursue new certifications to stay aligned with evolving technologies.
- Support team members in obtaining and maintaining relevant certifications
