Job Summary
- We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Officer to manage and control our construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- The Inventory Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and preventing losses.
- This role is crucial for the efficient operation of our construction projects and requires strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory items, including quantities, specifications, and locations.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems and procedures.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, tools, and equipment, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Organize and store inventory in a systematic and accessible manner within warehouses, storage areas, and project sites.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and proactively identify potential shortages or surpluses.
- Prepare and process requisitions for materials and supplies as needed.
- Track the movement of inventory between storage locations and project sites.
- Identify and report any damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory.
- Assist in the preparation of inventory reports for management.
- Collaborate with procurement, project management, and other departments to ensure efficient material flow.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to inventory management.
- Utilize inventory management software and tools effectively.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment.
