Marketing Manager

Columbia, South Carolina, SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to enhance the engagement of members of the South Carolina Bar and public service awareness. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of integrated communications, brand management, marketing analytics, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making to optimize marketing efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Identify and deploy innovative strategies to market South Carolina Bar programs, events, benefits and products to Bar membership. Perform basic market research and pricing analysis to ensure the South Carolina Bar remains competitive with industry standards.
Create, distribute, and interpret results of surveys to strengthen the South Carolina Bar’s position as a membership services organization, a leader in continuing legal education, and a trusted information resource for the public.
Work cross-functionally with Communications and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) departments to develop marketing plans and materials for CLE events and products, including the SC Bar annual convention, seminars, webinars, and publications. Design print and digital marketing materials as needed, including but not limited to book covers, signage, and sales materials.
Work with agency partners on opportunities to market the Bar’s public service initiatives statewide, increasing brand and program awareness through search engine optimization and paid media campaigns.
Coordinate sponsorship and advertising opportunities for Bar programs and events.
Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns using available analytics tools. Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, ROI, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Regularly attend professional development programming as schedule and budget allow to identify best practices from marketing experts and counterparts in other organizations.
Travel as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in advertising, visual communications, marketing, or related field; minimum of four years of marketing experience; strong analytics skills; experience in graphic design; ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills; and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Previous experience marketing educational or association programs, products, and events.
