Human Resource Manager

Position Overview

  • The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies that support the overall business goals.
  • This role calls for a strategic thinker with strong operational skills in core HR functions such as payroll administration, performance management, employee relations, talent development, and compliance. 
  • The ideal candidate will bring 7–8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within the technology or service-driven sectors, and have a proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management:

  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Manage employee compensation, benefits, and statutory remittances.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Performance Management:

  • Design and implement effective performance management frameworks.
  • Work with department heads to set clear KPIs and ensure consistent performance tracking.
  • Facilitate performance appraisals, feedback sessions, and career development plans.

HR Strategy & Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement HR policies aligned with organizational goals and compliant with labor laws.
  • Lead change management initiatives and drive HR programs that support cultural alignment and business growth.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Oversee recruitment efforts to attract, select, and retain top talent.
  • Enhance onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration and retention of new hires.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to forecast and meet staffing needs.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Promote a positive work environment through transparent communication and engagement programs.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances with fairness and professionalism.
  • Foster a culture of learning, inclusion, and collaboration.

Learning & Development:

  • Identify training needs and design learning programs to enhance employee capabilities.
  • Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.

HR Metrics & Reporting:

  • Monitor key HR metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Generate periodic reports on HR performance, workforce planning, turnover, and other relevant analytics.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master’s degree or HR certification is an added advantage).
  • 7–8 years of proven experience in a human resources management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with HR software systems and payroll tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data for strategic planning.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
